Product overview
The AQM 65 is a fully integrated air monitoring station that delivers ‘near reference‘ levels of performance. It offers the optimal balance between performance and price – measuring criteria pollutants to WHO air quality limits yet costing 3-5 x less than a traditional station based on analyzer technology.
Unlike other sensor-based instruments, the AQM 65 is designed to be calibrated using standard calibration equipment used to calibrate ambient air quality analyzers. This ensures your measurements will be robust and traceable back to reference standards. This AQM 65 comes with a fully integrated calibration system, enabling automatic scheduling of calibrations. It also greatly reduces the costs of servicing by removing the need to visit site to carry out calibrations. This has huge advantages where the costs of visiting site are high or the unit is operating remotely or in harsh environments, making site access difficult.
When linked together in a network, and coupled with remote data acquisition, AQM 65s will form a lower cost, high density ambient pollution monitoring system for a city or industrial perimeter. The size of a large suitcase, the unit can be transported by car, carried by two people, and installed and operational in under 30 minutes. This makes deployment and relocation quick and easy, opening up monitoring locations that were previously inaccessible to traditional monitoring stations. Because the enclosure is small, the energy required to temperature control it is much lower than for a traditional monitoring station. Lower power consumption opens up the possibility of remote power supply, further decreasing the total ownership cost.
A unique modular design increases flexibility and makes maintenance and servicing easy. Order your AQM 65 with as many or as few sensors as you like – then purchase additional sensors as needed. The sensors, packaged in modules, can be individually removed from the enclosure and sent away for servicing, or simply swapped out for a new one. Such convenience decreases downtime and lowers the total cost of ownership. You may also move sensor modules from one monitoring location to another as part of a network.
The AQM 65 is supported by a global distribution network, meaning you’re never too far from a skilled technician ready to provide assistance and spare parts. In addition, Aeroqual’s online training system is free to all our customers, meaning you can become an expert on your AQM system before it even arrives.
What can it measure?
The AQM 65 can measure up to 10 common pollutants simultaneously, including ozone (O3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), sulphur dioxide (SO2), volatile organic compounds (VOC), hydrogen sulphide (H2S), carbon dioxide (CO2), and particulate matter (TSP, PM10, PM2.5, PM1). You can also continuously measure up to 10 environmental factors, including rainfall, temperature, humidity, pressure, wind speed and direction.

FAQs
The AQM 65 has a thermally controlled enclosure for measurement stability and increased accuracy for gas measurements. AQM 65 can measure up to 20 different gaseous and particulate pollutants and environmental parameters simultaneously. The AQS 1 can measure particulate matter (PM) and up to three gasses at the same time (depending on gas module size). Environmental parameters can also be integrated into the AQS.
Aeroqual’s air quality monitors use sensor based measurement technology that allows our monitors to achieve 'near reference' air quality data. Whereas monitors that comply with US-EPA reference methodology use traditional sampling analyzers that cost many times more. Aeroqual is well recognized by the US-EPA as a leader in sensor based air quality monitors and last year the U.S. EPA announced a 5-year Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with Aeroqual.
All AQM 65 monitors are calibrated using NIST Traceable gases and certificates are issued with the equipment.
Yes, the AQM 65 has a thermal management system (TMS) that maintains a stable internal temperature irrespective of ambient temperature changes. The environmental operating temperature of the AQM 65 is -35 °C to +50 °C.
Where is the ideal place to install this device?
Best practice varies by country, Aeroqual recommends checking with your local regulatory authority. The AQM 65 User Guide provides some general guidance on the topic.
How many third-party sensors can be integrated in one system?
3-4 third party sensors can be integrated into one AQM 65 system. Common third party sensors include: meteorology, noise, and solar irradiance.
What is the maximum number of Gas modules you can install in an AQM 65 system?
The AQM 65 can fit up to eight gas modules, this is dependent on the gas modules selected and the addition of accessories fitted, such as the AirCal 8000 integrated calibration.
Are all sensors integrated in the AQM 65 monitored simultaneously?
Yes, all sensors, including environmental sensors, can be monitored simultaneously. The data can be viewed through Aeroqual Cloud, and Aeroqual Connect, the monitors operating system.
What communication options does the AQM support?
Standard: WIFI,
Ethernet (LAN)
Optional: Cellular IP HSPA 3G modem, 4G modem
Can I power the AQM 65 using solar and/or battery?
Mains AC power is preferred for powering the AQM 65. Occasionally mains AC power is not available at the site where the AQM 65 is installed, and an alternative power solution is required. Aeroqual has an AQM 65 power demand calculator (.xls spreadsheet) that can be used to calculate the power demand of different configurations. The power demands have been measured under real conditions using an environmental chamber capable of achieving the temperature ranges described in the table. The data you can get from it can be your reference to build your battery station or solar station for the system. When installing power outlets (110 Vac to 230 Vac) for the AQM 65, they should be weatherproof and installed safely. Install two power outlets, one for the AQM 65 and one for calibration equipment.
Can the AQM65 be provided with the solar panels and batteries from Aeroqual?
No. Aeroqual does not supply solar panels and batteries for the AQM 65.
What is the service and maintenance frequency for the AQM 65?
Routine service and maintenance are required to ensure optimal data capture and performance of the AQM 65, and to fulfill the requirements of the Aeroqual factory warranty. The frequency of some service activities such as filter changes will depend upon local environmental conditions. Environments with higher particle concentrations, for example, will require more frequent filter changes. Other service activities such as flow checks and pump replacements can be scheduled at routine intervals. Service activities such as module replacements are performed only when required. Recommended service frequencies for each service activity are provided in the AQM 65 User Guide.
What is the calibration frequency for the AQM 65 gas modules?
AQM 65 users typically calibrate every 3 to 12 months. The specific calibration interval for any given monitor varies within this range and is determined by data objectives.
Where is my data stored? Can I send the data to my own server?
For piece of mind data is stored both on the AQM 65’s internal PC and Aeroqual’s Cloud servers. Options are available to transfer data to your own servers via FTP, email export, and API if required.
What if the internet connection is disrupted, will I lose my data?
The data is stored in the AQM 65’s embedded PC. As soon as the internet connection is restored the data will transmitted to cloud again and back-filled to the point at which communication was lost.
Can I install the AQM 65 in a vehicle?
Yes, there are some installations, but we have customers that have successfully installed the AQM 65 in a vehicle. See the following case studies.
